Huang, Ying-Pu Homecoming Sculpture Exhibition – Hometown in Sunset

Time: 2024/11/23-12/11,

Location: Taichung City Dadun Cultural Center Exhibition Room I

The master sculptor Huang Ying-Pu, known for his dedication and artistry, is holding the Huang Ying-Pu Homecoming Sculpture Exhibition from now until December 11. The exhibition includes 29 sculptures, each inspired by a classic Taiwanese song. Through his exceptional skills, Huang breathes life into these nostalgic melodies, turning them into evocative sculptures that blend music and art in perfect harmony.

Huang’s sculptures capture the shared memories of the Taiwanese people—old-schooled tunes, the joy of running through the countryside during childhood, and a simple yet happy life. “I don’t intend to move anyone; I just wanted the pure and simple happiness of the past back into memories and dreams,” Huang Ying-Pu described his original intention of creation in this way. The collection draws inspiration from classic Taiwanese songs such as“Longing for the Spring Breeze,” “Rainy Night Flower,” and “A Rainy Night at the Port.” Each piece is like a poetic expression, narrating the joys and sorrows unique to Taiwan. The exhibition opens until December 11, features guided tours led by Huang himself, offering visitors a chance to experience his profound connection to Taiwan and the stories behind his art. For everyone who love this land, it’s a cultural feast not to be missed.
